REPRESENTING THE FUTURE OF PROFESSIONAL AUDIO
Greg Hockman began his involvement in sales and marketing of professional audio products in 1971 when he worked for Dr. Robert A. Moog, the “father of contemporary electronic music.” During the mid 1970’s, Greg built custom equipment for, and worked and toured with, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Rick Wakeman, and YES. Greg was the original importer of Soundcraft Consoles into North America in 1974 and opened Soundcraft’s first North American office in 1978.
Moving to Electro-Voice in 1980, as Director of Marketing and Product Development for Music Products, Greg was on the development team for many of EV’s most successful M.I. and Professional Installed Sound products. In 1984, Greg moved to California to take the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for QSC Audio Products where the company enjoyed tremendous success, becoming a major player in the professional amplifier market during his tenure.
In 1989, Greg opened Seabridge Audio Marketing, a manufacturer’s rep firm representing EAW and Crown. Following record growth for EAW, Greg took a position as factory rep and Western Regional Manager at EAW. In this position, Greg produced amazing sales growth for EAW before joining with Tom Carlile at TC Marketing to rep EAW and Crest Audio to raise the bar again.
Greg and his wife Sunny bought Tom’s share of the company and opened GLS Marketing in 1995. Losing Sunny to cancer, Greg’s bout with cancer, and the loss of EAW, all in 2003, made it difficult to continue with GLS. Moving all of the lines to Mac West Group provided a smooth transition for our customers and manufacturers with no break in service or support.
GLS will focus its efforts on Fulcrum-Acoustic, Powersoft and Outline to better serve these manufacturers and our customers.
In its 16 years of innovation, patented technologies and solutions, Powersoft has developed an amplifier platform that is the most significant step forward in amplifier design, performance, efficiency and control that I have seen in my nearly 40 years in pro audio. Although Powersoft still builds OEM amplifier/processing modules for many of the world’s top loudspeaker companies Powersoft amplifiers are technologically, sonically and mechanically the best amplifiers made.
I have had the pleasure of working with David Gunness both at EV and EAW and with Stephen Siegel at EAW and ASHLY, so the opportunity to work with them at FULCRUM ACOUSTIC was an obvious choice. As expected, David has delivered breakthrough products that once again take the state-of-the-art forward.
In the past 30 years, Penton/ATEIS has become synonymous with high quality Voice Alarm and Public Address systems, drag n drop DSP platforms, and DSP steerable line arrays, all across Europe and the world. With our own audio networking and data-routers, voice over IP solutions and our latest development, Intercom over IP, we are leading the industry!
The opening of Outline North America LLC in 2009, fueled the growth of this legendary loudspeaker line in America. Outline’s 340 year history has been driven by a passion for quality and innovation with Italian flair. With numerous patents and proprietary technologies, Outline Butterfly array is has had great success throughout Europe with major sound companies (like Britannia Row) and in installations throughout the world.
